Workers on hunger strike over NREGS
Robertsganj, Sep 27 (UNI) Demanding jobs under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), labourers, under the Communist Party of India (CPI) banner, continued their hunger strike today for the third day in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh.
About 500 labourers of Dugaulia, Tilhar, Kolkadi and Obradih areas sat on the agitational programme at premises of the Dhorawal block office.
CPI state secretary Akhilendra Pratap Singh said the agitators were demanding job cards under the NREGS and payment of dues.
