United Phosphorus buys DuPont's Bensulfuron-methyl business

New Delhi, Sept 27 (UNI) Mumbai-based pesticides manufacturer United Phosphorus Ltd today said it has entered into an agreement with US-based DuPont for purchase of Bensulfuron-methyl business including Londax herbicide and all its mixtures throughout the world.

Under the agreement, the company and its subsidiaries throughout the world will be able to start selling Bensulfuron-methyl immediately, except in the Asia Pacific region.

This purchase will add to the product portfolio of the company to expand its market presence in the segment of rice herbicide. With this acquisition, it will get another leading brand in its portfolio.

Bensulfuron-methyl is a high margin product which has been sold for nearly 20 years and is the industry standard for providing annual and perennial broadleaf and sedge weed control.

This active ingredient has a wide application window to crop and weeds and can be applied direct to water. It is mainly used in rice and aquatic herbicide.
