Two inter-state thieves arrested

Mysore, Sep 27 (UNI) The Crime Branch police of Bangalore and Mysore have arrested two inter-state thieves and recovered Rs 50 lakh worth gold jewellery from them.

City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood told newspersons here today that the accused, hailing from Kenaprampatti in Calicut district of Kerala, were involved in various theft cases since 1999 in both the cities.

Their modus operandi was to threaten people at lonely places at gunpoint and robbing jewellery, besides breaking open locked houses and making good their escape with the booty. The arrested were identified as Edwin Mathew and Raghavan V Nayar.
