Supplementary Estimates approved by K'taka Council

Belgaum, Sep 27 (UNI) The Karnataka Legislative Council today adopted Supplementary Estimates aggregating Rs 1408.89 crore, passed by the Lower House, after a prolonged discussion for over three hours.

The Supplementary Estimates related to advance sanctioned from the Contigency Fund to cover expenditure of 'New Service' and other unforeseen expenditure after the budget 2006-07 was placed before the Legislature on March 2006.

The House also yesterday adopted the Appropriation Bill for 2006, tabled by Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, also holding the Finance portfolio.

Later, the House was adjourned for tomorrow.
