SP holds rally to CM House, demands unemployment allowance
Dehra Dun, Sep 27 (UNI) Uttaranchal unit of the Samajwadi Party today staged a rally from Gnanhi Park to Chief Minister's House, demanding unemployment allowance for the unemployed of the state.
Scores of SP workers under the leadership of SP National General Secretary Vinod Barthwal gathered at Gandhi Park and marched towards CM House.
However, they were intercepted by the police force on the way, whereupon the party workers blocked the road to CM House and opened it only after a CM House representative reached the spot to take their charter of demands.
Their other demands included Rs 2000 under Kanya Vidhya Dhan Scheme for every Intermediate pass girl, formation of Bhumi Sena, stoppage of land aqquisition process, implementation of rule to end monopoly of the management of public schools, ten per cent reservation for the poor students in public schools and free coaching to the poor candidates for IAS and PCS examinations.
