Soren takes party MLA's threat lightly

Jamshedpur, Sep 27 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) president and Coal Minister Shibu Soren today ruled out any dissension in the party over the ministerial berths in the newly-formed Madhu Koda government in Jharkhand.

Mr Soren, who came here with Chief Minister Madhu Koda, was reacting to the statement of party MLA from Chakradharpur, who reportedly threatened to quit the Assembly and the party membership demanding ministerial berths for the two party MLAs from the Kolhan region.

Mr Soren said, ''Sukhram is immature and it was his emotional outburst. '' He denied any difference over the issue and said the party MLAs were not aiming to become ministers but they would like to work for the development of the state.

Mr Soren, also the chairman of the UPA steering committee in Jharkhand, said the cabinet expansion would take place after the Durga Puja.

About joining of the Congress and the RJD in the ministry, Mr Soren said he had not received any information.

To a question the JMM Chief said a UPA candidate would contest the Koderma Lok Sabha bypoll.

He said the stalemate over the post of the speaker for which Independent MLA Stephen Marandi and the Congress were at loggerhead, would be resolved. '' Mr Marandi is with us and we are talking with him to find out a solution, '' the JMM supremo said.
