Sonia Gandhi inaugurates RIMS at Andhra
Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh), Sep 27: UPA Chairperson and Congress president Sonia Gandhi inaugurated the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciencies(RIMS) and Nursing College at Gutlampally village in this district today.
Ms Gandhi, who arrived here by a helicopter from Tirupati, inaugurated the 750-bedded, state-of-the-art RIMS superspeciality Hospital and Nursing college spread over sprawling 200 acres and laid the foundation stone for a Dental college at an estimated cost of Rs 22 crore inside the RIMS campus.
Besides, the 750-bedded teaching hospital, the RIMS complex has a Medical College, Hostel and staff quarters.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and state ministers were present at the function.
