Simha vahanam procession taken out in Tirumala
Tirumala, Sep 27 (UNI) Placed on the gigantic 'Simha vahanam, the 'utsav deity Srimalayappa Swamy Varu was taken around the four mada streets on the third day of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavam festival of Lord Venkateswara today.
The deity adorned with expensive jewels, bedecked on the simha vahanam, was taken around the streets from 0900 hrs to 1100 hrs.
In the evening, after the 'unjal seva,' the idols of Sri Malayappa Swamy, along with his two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi would be taken out in a procession on the 'muthyapu pandiri vahanam' (a decorated chariot with strings of pearls) around the four mada streets.
Meanwhile, Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) sources said the Devasthanam had netted about Rs 1.5 crore on the second day of the Brahmotsavam, including Rs 72 lakh from hundi.
