Shiva temple robbed

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 27 (UNI) Three people robbed a Shive temple at Dondapadu village here and decamped with ornaments on the lingam and also jewellery of the priest and his wife.

According to police, the burglars managed to escape after assaulting the priest K Parabramha Achai (80) and his wife Phani (75) who lived in a quarter in the temple premises.

The burglars, who wore masks, held Phani at knife point and took away her jewellery.

They forcibly took away the keys of the temple and opened the doors of the sanctum santorum.

The injured couple told reporters that the burglars threatened to kill them if they raised an alarm.
