Sensex up 38 pts in the opening move

Mumbai, Sep 27: The Bombay Stock Exchange opened 38 points in the green and zoomed past the 12,400 mark soon on strong global cues.

Currently, sensex has steadied itself and is trading at 12,417.52, which is 96 points more than the previous close.

The expiry of September derivatives tomorrow is expected to keep the traders tightly leashed today, however till now no such concern is noticeable on the bourses.

All the sectoral indices on BSE are trading in the green led by FMCG which is up 1.20 per cent and is followed by Banking sector which is trading up by 0.92 per cent, Capital Goods by 0.83 per cent and Metals by 0.86 per cent.

Major gainers on the index are ICICI Bank, ITC, Cipla, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors, HDFC, Dr Reddy's lab, Hindalco and Satyam Computers all up between 0.77 to 1.29 per cent.

Besides the overall losers on BSE are LUPIN, GAIL, Oriental Bank Of Commerce, I-Flex and Asian Paints all down between 0.02 to 0.47 per cent.
