Sensex trades 88 pts up in noon trade

Mumbai, Sept 27 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitve Index (Sensex) was trading 88 points up, as traders short covered prior to the sept derivatives contracts coming to close tomorrow.

Sensex is currently trading at 12,409.20 compared to previous close of 12,321.19.

In a profitable trading today sensex has moved to a high of 12,442.82 and a low of 12,359.01.

Earlier sensex opened 38 points in the green over strong global cues.

All the sectors are trading in the green led by FMCG, up by 1.23 per cent and Health Care up by 1.00 per cent. Banking too is noting gains and is up by 1.45 per cent.

Major gainers on the BSE-30 index are HDC, ITC, Reliance Industries, ICICI, HDFC Bank, Maruti and Cipla, all up between 1.38 to 1.81 per cent.

Besides the losers are Wipro, Hero Honda, TCS, Bharti Airtel, Satyam, and L&T all down between 0.13 to 0.84 per cent.

All the benchmark Asian indices are also trading up today.
