SAI Eastern Centre, Nobel Academy win; move into QFs

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) T Khammim Thang scored a splendid hat-trick as SAI Eastern Centre, Kolkata thrashed Zahira College, Colombo to advance into the quarterfinals on a day when defending champions Nobel Academy, Kathmandu booked a place in the last eight following an unimpressive 2-1 win over Habbiya School, Afghanistan in under-17 category of the Subroto Cup football tournament today.

In an another match, Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur continued their impressive run as they blanked Govt Boys Anand Hr Sec School, Dhar 4-0 with all the goals coming in the first half.

In the sub-junior (under-14) section, SAI Eastern Centre, Kolkata were again in the thick of action as they drubbed St John Berchman's Middle School, Chhattisgarh 11-0 with Ajoy Roy scoring a fabulous double hat-trick. In another tie, rakesh Kandari and Anoop Negi netted in three goals apiece as Government Inter College, Chamoli crushed Burn Hall Hr sec School Srinagar 7-1.
