Ram temple is not political issue: Kalyan Singh

Faizabad, Sep 27: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and BJP vice-president Kalyan Singh today said the Ram temple construction at the disputed site was not a political issue.

After having 'darshan' of Ram Lalla, Mr Singh told mediapersons that the temple construction in the holy city would be a pride for the country.

''BJP dreams about 'Ram Rajya' in UP, when prosperity would be visible all around,'' he added.

Mr Singh informed that the BJP would fight the 2007 Vidhan Sabha elections over such issues.

The former CM demanded increase in security at the disputed site and asked the for bullet-proof arrangement around the 'garb grah'.

He was accompanied by party's state unit president Keshri Nath Tripathi and UP Legislative Party leader Lalji Tandon.
