Production of coaches, wheels exceeds targets

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) All the productions units of the Railways, including the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) and Rail Wheel Factory, exceeded their production tagets during April-August thus year, signalling the robust functioning of Railway PSUs.

The ICF produced 449 coaches during April-August, exceeding the target by 8 coaches, while Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) produced 57713 wheels and 22066 axles as compared to the target of 55,522 wheels and 21,774 axles.

Chitranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) and Rail Coach Factory (RCF) produced 48 electric locos,77 locos and 525 coaches respectively equalling their targets.

The ordinary working expenses during the period came come down to Rs. 14108.92 crore ascompared to the budget provision of Rs.

14417.97 crore.

The punctuality percentage of mail and express trains in broad gauge and metre gauge respectively was 92.4 and 97.4 compared to 91.9 and 97.1 during the same period last year.
