President's website sets record

New Delhi, Sep 27 (UNI) The website of President A P J Abdul Kalam, www.presidentofindia.nic.in, has set a new record, registering 2.4 million hits on September 12.

''The highest number of hits was on September 12, 2006 which was 24 lakhs. According to NIC, this is the highest in a day for any Government website,'' a Rashtrapati Bhavan press note said.

A hit analysis on monthly basis showed that the website had the highest number of hits in August 2006 at 12.7 million, with August 15 alone accounting for 10.12 lakh.

The average monthly hits on the website during 2006 works out to around 95 lakhs.
