Mandi, Sep 27 (UNI) Power generation in one of the six units of the 990 MW Dehar power house that was submerged a month ago, was restored last evening.

The plant was generating 1.5 crore units of power everyday.

The power house engineers said here today that frantic efforts were being made to activate another unit within 10 days while the remaining four units would also start functioning within two to three weeks.

Under the BSL project, which had been executed 29 years ago, 4716 million units of water had been diverted to Sutlej through 38-km long water conductor system, the largest in Asia, comprising two tunnels and an open hydel channel with a reservoir in between.

The fall of water at Sutlej in Slappar had been utilized for generation of 990 MW power in the Dehar power house where six generators of 165 MW each had been installed.
