One killed, 6 injured in clash in Amreli Dist

Rajkot, Sep 27 (UNI) One person was killed and six others injured, three of them seriously, in a clash between two groups of people at Toda village in Lathi taluka of the district.

Police today said trouble erupted when two youth -- Ghanshyam Japadia and Sanjaya Japadia -- had an argument with one Vikram Sardual and his friends over a seating arrangement at the Navratri venue on Monday night.

Sardul and his friends attacked the Japadias with sticks and sharp weapons after they refused to vacate their seats, killing Sanjay (20) on the spot.

Later, Ghanshyam returned with a group of people and attacked Sardul and his friends with sticks and sharp weapons, injuring six members of the group.

Three of them who were seriously injured, have been admitted to a local hospital at Amreli, the police said.

A complaint of lathi charge has been registered by both the groups, the police added.
