Jaipur, Sep 27 (UNI) All Muslim forums and organisations of Rajasthan will congregate here on October 2 to decide on the controversial Haj House issue rocking the state.

The meeting, under the banner of Muslim Progressive Front (MPF) at Muslim Musafir Khana here, will decide on the course of action to be taken if the state government defers the building of Haj House in the proposed area, said Mahir Azad, a Congress legislator and convenor of MPF at a press conference here today. He added the Muslims will take to roads if the construction of the building is deferred.

He said the Congress and most Muslim organisations want two Haj Houses here, adding the administrative headquarters should be at Karbala and reporting at Ramsinghpura in Sanganer for the convenience of the Hajis.

Mr Azad also urged the state education minister Ghanshyam Tiwari, who is opposing its building in a predominately Hindu-dominated Sanganer area on the grounds that it is a pastoral land, to come out clear.

He asked whether the minister is opposing the issue because it is a pastoral land or just because it is a Hindu-dominated area. ''If the issue is about it being a pastoral land, why isn't he opposing the lands in the same area given to Lal Bahadur Memorial Foundation, Indravati Bagdoria Trust and also for Rajasthan Housing Board and Jaipur Development Authority colonies.'' Mr Mumtaz Masih, general secretary, PCC was also present at the press meet, who said the repression of minorities continue unabated in the state.

Mr Azad said the policies for minorities in the state remain only on paper with no work done for their implementation. He said the Sangh Parivar's only agenda is to harass the minorities and instil a fear psychosis in them.
