Metal prices rise further on fresh industrial demand

Mumbai, Sep 27 (UNI) Metal prices rose further on fresh industrial demand in line with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.

In ferrous section : copper heavy, copper utensils, brass utensils and brass cuttings hiked by Rs 100 each per quintal on increase of fresh demand.

In non-ferrous section : zinc slab and lead ingots went up by Rs 100 and Rs 25 per quintal, respectively, on better buying support.

Tin slab and Nickel cathode increased by Rs three and Rs 30 per kg on reduced stock supply.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,500, Copper utensils - Rs 32,600, Brass utensils - Rs 22,900, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,600 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,300.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 41,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 12,500, Zinc slab - Rs 19,100, Lead ingots - Rs 6,925, Tin slab - Rs 518 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,800 (per kg).
