Joshi criticises putting Pak on par with India

Jaipur, Sep 27 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi today said the acceptance of Pakistan also as a victim of terrorism in the joint statement issued after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Presdient Musharraf met in Havana, has given Islamabad an advantage.

Addressing a press conference here, Dr Joshi said the Prime Minister, before leaving for Havana had accused Pakistan of its involvement in the Mumbai and Malegaon bomb blasts and indefinitely stalled the peace talks with Pakistan.

''What has transpired between the Prime Minister and President Musharraf to term Pakistan as a victim of terror rather a country sponsoring terrorism,'' he queried.

The BJP leader also found fault with the proposed joint mechanism for supervision and monitoring of terrorist activity in Kashmir, terming it ''Pakistan's plan for joint control of Kashmir''.

''The Prime Minister's optimism of giving Pakistan and Musharraf another chance for peace is not tenable from the history of that country and Musharraf himself,'' Dr Joshi claimed.
