IBM teams up with 12 Indian solution providers

Bangalore, Sep 27 (UNI) IBM today announced that a dozen key India-based solution providers will incorporate IBM's self-managing autonomic technology, based on open standards, into their software and solutions.

By working with IBM, these companies could deliver software that could radically automate and simplify IT management and the underlying systems, while reducing costs for their customers, IBM said in a release here.

The India-based solution providers would build IBM self-managing technology into their offerings over the next six months as part of IBM's global Autonomic Computing Business Partner initiative. IBM estimated that autonomic technologies could reduce IT administration costs by up to 40 per cent and increase IT utilisation by up to 25 per cent, the release said.

''Autonomic computing has risen to the top of the IT agenda for businesses in India,'' IBM India Vice-President for ISV and Developer Relations R Dhamodaran said. IBM was helping solution providers quickly adopt self-managing autonomic technology, which was critical for customers trying to cut costs and remain competitive. In turn, as solution providers build IBM's autonomic technology into their offerings, they spur customer demand for products based on IBM middleware and open standards, he added.

The announcement was the latest step in IBM's five-year autonomic computing initiative, which had worked to automate processes and build intelligence into systems themselves.

These 12 companies join more than 70 business partners around the world which had partnered IBM through its Autonomic Computing Business Partner initiative. They were Adrenalin eSystems Ltd, Aunwesha Knowledge Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bahwan CyberTek Pvt Ltd, CashTech Solutions India Pvt Ltd, Infosys Technologies Ltd, Karishma Software Ltd, MicroGenesis Techsoft (P) Ltd, Pre-emptive Systems (P) Limited, Radiant Infosystems Pvt Ltd, Silicon Plains, SOBIS Software (India) Pvt Ltd and Zen Exim Pvt Ltd.
