Heavy exchange of fire between TSR and NLFT(BM): two nabbed

Agartala, Sep 27 (UNI) A heavy exchange of fire took place between the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and National Liberation Front of Tripura, Biswa Mohan faction (NLFT-BM), yesterday evening at Nepal Tilla in Tripura's North District.

Police said about eight NLFT (BM) extremists fired upon the TSR jawans, who launched a special anti-insurgency operation, from a hill top. The jawans rpt jawans retaliated and after a brief exchange of fire the ultras fled into the thick forest.

The operation party found blood stains which indicated that some members of the extremists group were hit by bullets.

Reinforcement has been sent to help the operation party. A search operation is on to nab the extremists.

In another incident, two collaborators of the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) has been arrested from Kalyanpur area in Tripura's West District.
