HCL launches 'HCL Digilife' showroom in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Sep 27 (UNI) HCL Infosystems Ltd today launched a new-age concept showroom 'HCL Digilife' here, designed to be a complete 'house of convergence' with wide range of products&services.

''It is the first such showroom that is owned and managed by the company itself in Gujarat,'' said Mr Rajendra Kumar, Executive Vice President, HCL Infosystems while inaugurating the showroom.

''HCL Digilife would not just be retailing, but creating complete experience zones for categories encompassing everything from mobile communication to digital entertainment to connectivity/content availability at broadband speeds, thus creating a one-stop window solution for the digital needs of the urban Indian home," Mr Kumar said.

HCL Infosystems, with an annual revenue of Rs 12,000 crore is a premier information-enabling and system integration company in the country. ''Since everything is becoming digital, now industry estimates peg the current potential of digital lifestyle market around Rs 2,500 crore which is expected to touch Rs 10,000 crore by 2010," Mr Kumar said.

With an aim to make the most compelling digital products and services more accessible to Indian consumers across the country, HCL will be looking to set up 150-200 HCL Digilife stores over a period of two years focusing mainly on metros and state capitals, Mr Kumar added. HCL itself would be launching over five concept stores to provide a benchmark for franchisee outlets nationwide.
