HCL forms group of Wi-Fi alliance

New Delhi, Sep 27: HCL Technologies Ltd today announced it has become a member of the Wi-Fi alliance.

The purpose of the alliance is to promote the IEEE 802.11 wireless networking standard by encouraging manufacturers of wireless networking products to achieve a high degree of interoperability among all products employing the standard and by promoting through a number of means, the widespread adoption and use of products employing the IEEE 802.11 standard, a company statement said.

The Wi-Fi alliance membership would provide improved visibility of the company within the WI-FI alliance community.

HCL is currently offering services in the area of Wi-Fi based solution development, verification, and validation to global companies.

With the company's vast Wi-Fi infrastructure/labs and skilled human resources combined with the Wi-Fi alliance membership, the company is looking forward to provide more value addition to the existing as well as prospective customers.

The membership is an important milestone for the Wireless CoE (Center Of Excellence), enhancing the service offerings in the area of WI-FI based product development and verification and validation services.

''The membership will also enable HCL to go for the pre-certification body status and strengthen existing certification and conformance services,'' comapany's Corporate VP - Engineering Solutions and Services G H Rao said.
