Gaekwad hopes team India ill do better under Vengsarkar
Vadodara, Sep 27 (UNI) Former India captain-turned-coach Ansuman Gaekwad today expressed optimism that Team India would do well under newly appointed national selection committee chairman Dilip Vengsarkar.
Congratulating Vengsarkar on his appointment, Gaekwad said, ''It is very good for Indian cricket to have an experienced cricketer like Vengsarkar as chief selector.'' ''Vengsarkar has played a lot of cricket and is still very much in touch with the game which will definitely help boost the morale of the team,'' Gaekwad said.
Outgoing selection panel chief Kiran More, who recently resigned from the chairmanship of Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) nearly a year ahead of his tenure saying that others should be given a chance, was however not available for comment.
More, who represented West Zone in the five-member national selection committee in September, 2002, and became the chairman in 2004, will however remain as the BCA joint secretary.
