French Vessel 'The Galathee' to be auctioned

Kochi, Sep 27 (UNI) A local Court here today ordered the auction of the French Vessel 'The Galathee', intercepted by coast guard for engaging in unauthorised off shore survey.

The Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court issued the order on a petition filed by the coast guard seeking to relieve them from the responsibility of protecting the vessel further.

The coast guard submitted that the French vessel submerged in water was causing considerable inconvenience and difficulties to them for more than seven years.

The CBI submitted that the only remedy was auction of the vessel after recovering it from the water and drying.
