Four Nigerians arrested for forging cheques, pay orders

New Delhi, Sept 27 (UNI) The CBI today claimed to have busted a gang of Nigerians involved in forging fake cheques, pay orders and money orders, and arrestd four persons from two localities in the city.

While two of the accused were today remanded to CBI custody, two others were sent to judicial custody, according to the CBI spokesman.

The raids were conducted at Safdarjung Enclave and Vikaspuri residences of the accused following a tip-off.

A cheque worth 71,000 US dollars and a laptop were seized in the raids along with a quotation invoice favouring a company in Nigeria for suppling computer peripherals.

Later a courier company handed over several pay orders, money orders and cheques worth nearly 95,280 US dollars destined for USA, Canada and Nigeria to the investigation team, it added.
