E-mail warns of bomb attack on US Consulate

Chennai, Sep 27: Security was tightened in and around the office of the US Consulate General here today, following the receipt of an e-mail at a private Visa Processing Centre (VFS Centre), that a human bomb would destroy the Office.

Police said though VFS authorities received the mail a couple of days ago, they informed the matter to the police only this morning.

Adequate security measures have been taken at the Consulate in connection with the visit of US Ambassador David Mulford to the city, the police added.
