Diamond trader cheated of Rs 1.60 lakh

Surat, Sep 27 (UNI) A diamond trader here was cheated to the tune of Rs 1.60 lakh by two people who promised to provide him with polished diamonds but gave him a packet of glass pieces instead.

The incident occurred here yesterday and Mahidharpura police has registered a complaint against Bharath Bhavnagarwala and Mahesh Gajera, both the residents of Varachcha in the city.

According to the police, the two men approached Haresh Radadiya, a diamond trader in Poonagam area and offered to provide him with diamonds worth Rs 1.60 lakhs. The two men, however, handed over just a packet of glass pieces to the trader.
