DDRC, Wellspring allaince for diagnostic centres

Kochi, Sept 27: In its effort to provide a comprehensive diagnostic service in Kerala, Doctors Diagnostic&Research Centre (DDRC) has struck a strategic alliance with Wellspring, a fully-owned subsidary of Nicholas Piramal Limited.

Addressing mediapersons here last evening, Dr Balaraman Nair of DDRC said, the joint venture, DDRC Wellspring Pathlab Diagnostics, would be a path-breaking in evolving diagnostic scenario in the state.

He said the venture would bring a one-stop centre for the patients with all tests under one roof and would feature world-class technology and expertise.

The diagnostics would be the first and the largest capable of investigations in Cytogenetics, Immunohistochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Virology, Immunology and Radiology with Nuclear Medicine.

The centres would also have the latest technology to perform angiogram, he added.

Vice-President of Wellspring Girish Mehta said the joint venture would enable the state to have the best pathological service.

He said Wellspring was also planning to expand its operations to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, the Gulf countries and Africa in the coming years.

The joint venture would be formally launched on September 29 by State Health Minister P K Sreemathy Teacher.
