Cong will make indepth study of Marad report: Chennithala

Kochi, Sep 27 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala today said the party would make its stand clear on the Marad carnage after an indepth study of the report on the incident.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Chennithala said the party would study the Justice Thomas P Joseph Commission report that probed the incident in which nine people were killed on the Marad beach in Kozhikode district in 2003, and make the stand clear on the incident.

On the self-financing issue, Mr Chennithala said the state government was not trying to reach a consensus with private college managements and the future of the students were in a predicament.

The government had also not taken any concrete steps to check the steep price rise of essential commodities in the state, he added.
