CBI raids suspended TTE's house; checks banks' accounts

Lucknow, Sep 27 (UNI) A joint team of CBI and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Uttar Pradesh Police today carried out searches in two public sector banks to find out the details of accounts of a suspended TTE of North-Eastern Railway here.

The joint team had yesterday raided the residence of Train Ticket Examiner Bachhulal in Gomti Nagar area following information he had accumulated property disproportionate to his known sources of information.

Bachhulal was recently placed under suspension, while his elder sibling Bedilal was arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) for a case pertaining to railway recruitment paper leak case.

During a raid on Bedilal's residence, the STF had found documents relating to property and bank accounts. The STF had reportedly forwarded the papers to the EOW for action.

The team today searched for details of his accounts in Central Bank of India and State Bank of India.

While his total accumulated savings are estimated at Rs 10 lakh -- he joined service in 1991 -- he has a house worth Rs 25 lakh in the capital city and two plots worth Rs Seven lakh on the city outskirts.

Valuables worth Rs Seven lakh were also seized from his house.
