2 killed, 15 injured in a bus-tanker collision in Vadodara
Vadodara, Sep 27 (UNI) Two pilgrims were killed and 15 others, mostly women were injured when a luxury bus they were travelling in collided head-on with an oil tanker at Dumad chowkdi on the National highway eight near here today.
Police said the victims, who had reserved the bus, were on their way from Dabhoi village in Anand district to the famous Pavagadh hills for darshan of the Goddess Mahakali on the occasion of Navratri festival.
The ill-fated bus was carrying about 55 pilgrims when the mishap took place.
Two of the victims - bus driver Md Shaqil Malek (30) and Raisinh Thakore (28), who were rushed to the SSG civil hospital here, later succumbed to their injuries. The condition of at least four other victims, including bus cleaner Altaf Sheikh, was stated to be critical, sources said.
