Tutor sentenced to life for raping, killing student
Varanasi, Sep 26 (UNI) A fast track court here has sentenced to life imprisonment, a man accused of raping his teenage student and strangulating her in 2002.
The prosecution counsel said here today that Surendra Yadav, a resident of Karamnasha (Bihar) was yesterday sentenced to life by Fast Track judge (II) P K Srivastava, after being convicted of raping and then strangulating his teenaged student Rajashri on January 22, 2002.
The tutor, who stayed in a rented house here used to teach Rajashri, a student of class XII, residing in Paharpur area under police lines here in 2002.
On January 22, 2002, Rajashri went with Surendra to appear in the examinations, but did not return till late night. Later her body was found from a house in Hukulganj area of the city and subsequently a case registered against Surendra.
Taking into account available evidence, Fast Track Judge (II) P K Srivastava yesterday convicted Surendra for raping and killing the teenager, besides destroying evidence and handed him life sentence alongwith a fine of Rs 55,000.
