Top seed Jugal Marfatia enters last eight in Asian Junior

Gurgaon, Sep 26 (UNI) Top seed Jugal Marfatia set up a quarter-final clash with eighth seed Sidharth Rawat after beating Vishal Passi 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in the second round of the Asian junior under-14 series tournament at the National Tennis Academy here today.

Rawat stormed past Prabhakar Shatrack 6-0, 6-1 in his second round match to enter the last eight of the tournament.

In other second round matches played today, Shahbaz Khan sailed past Sajal Chaudhary 6-0, 6-2 to set up his quarter-final encounter with seventh seed Vaidik Munshaw, who beat N Sai Kartik 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 in the second round.

Meanwhile, Alla Srikar scored an upset as he ousted sixth seed Pavan Surya 7-6 (2), 7-5 to set up tough match with third seed Sumeet Shinde, who trounced Hardarshan Singh 6-0, 6-1.

In another second round match, Rohit Bist thrashed Parth P Shah 6-0, 6-3 and will now take on second seed Vishwesh Sinha, who did not drop a single game as he registered a 6-0, 6-0 win over Churchill Peace to enter the quarter-finals.
