Tea garden executives should be alert: Asom Govt
Guwahati, Sep 26 (UNI) The Asom government has asked the Tea garden executives in the state to be alert in the wake of renewed belligerence by the banned ULFA against tea companies in the state.
Following the Saturday night killing of a senior tea garden executive of Hologhabi Tea estate under Digboi police station area in Tinsukia district by the ULFA militants, the administration has sounded red alert.
Officials sources said the tea garden management have been asked to keep the nearest police station informed about the movement of their executives for their security.
Police sources said that it was not possible to provide security to all tea executives in the state.
However, tea estates affiliated to Indian Tea Association (ITA) in the state have been protected by Asom Tea Plantation Protection Force (ATPPF). The rest of the gardens banks on government forces for security.
