Shahabuddin gets bail
Siwan, Sep 26 (UNI) A local court today granted regular bail to incarcerated RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in a case related to threatening a police officer.
First class judicial magistrate of special court, V V Gupta granted bail to the RJD MP after hearing the arguments of both the accused and the prosecution.
The officer-in-charge of Ziradai police station Nizamul Hoque had recorded in the station diary that Shahabuddin had made a threatening call to him asking to release a person under police custody, from Beur jail. Later an FIR was also lodged in this connection.
The magistrate, however, rejected another petition seeking bail for Shahabuddin in a case of issuing a similar threat to Siwan jail superintendent.
The MP is currently undergoing treatment of spinal cord problem at AIIMS in New Delhi under judicial custody on the directive of Patna High Court.
