SDM booked for attempt to murder

Mahoba, Sep 26 (UNI) A Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) presently posted here has been booked under dacoity and attempt to murder charges in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh.

The case was registered under sections 395, 307, 323, 504 and 506 against SDM Kunj Bihari Agarwal, tehsildars Ramkesh Yadav, Sanjay Singh and 15 others.

A Banda special court had directed for the registration of the case. Kunj Bihari -- who was earlier posted as SDM in Banda -- has since absconded.

On April 21, Kunj Bihari had gone to facilitate the possession of an auctioned house to Krishnakant in Banyota Muhal area, where the previous owner's son Pankaj had allegedly doused himself with kerosene protesting the move.

However, the SDM set Pankaj afire, in which he got seriously burnt.
