PM meets President to brief on NAM meet
New Delhi, Sep 26: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today met President A P J Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhawan and briefed the President about his recent visit to Cuba to attend the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit.
During the meeting, which lasted about 30 minutes, the Prime Minister also apprised Dr Kalam of his meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of NAM Summit.
Dr Singh informed the President in detail about his discussions with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf. He also briefed Dr Kalam about his visit to Brazil and his meetings with Brazilian leaders.
The President informed the Prime Minister on his recent visit to Tamil Nadu and Kerala, particularly his visits to districts of Ramanathapuram, Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli in the context of a CII Conclave which discussed the growth potential of the districts, particularly in the field of IT. The President also apprised the Prime Minister of his visit to Kudankulum Atomic Power Project.
The President conveyed his heartiest greetings to the Prime Minister on the occasion of his birthday today.
