Nobel Academy, Nepal drubs Manipur school 7-1
New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) Ranjit Shrestha and Roshan Karki scored a brace each as defending champions Nobel Academy, Kathmandu, Nepal routed Ukhrul HS School, Manipur 7-1 in a league round match of the Subroto Cup Football Tournament for under-17 boys here today.
Bharat Khawas opened the scoring for the Nepal School and Ranjit doubled the scoring five minutes later. Ranjit scored another in the 35th minute but Th Keishing pulled one back for Manipur in the 40th minute.
However, that was the only high point for the north-eastern team as Nepal school pumped in four more to complete the humiliation.
Elsewhere, Rajesh Kumar found the net on the either side of the breather as St Patric's Anglo Indian HS School, Tamil Nadu defeated Burn HS School Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir 5-1. SAI Eastern Centre, Kolkata blanked Govt Boys Anand Hr Sec School, Dhar 3-0 with Shyam Bahadur Yadav hitting a brace.
In another match, Victoria Institution, Malaysia registered a facile 3-1 win over MCC, Kerala.
