Naxalite shot dead

Jagdalpur, Sep 26 (UNI) Police today claimed to have shot dead an unidentified Naxalite during an encounter in Huchhakot forest area in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.

Police said on a tip-off about the presence of Naxalites, a police party from Edka base camp reached there yesterday. In the encounter, a suspected naxalite was shot dead, but the ultras managed to take away the body. Bloodstains were found on the way.

Besides explosives, police recovered 200 metre wire, naxalite literature and other daily use items from the spot.
