Sri Lankan airman killed in claymore blast
Colombo, Sept 26: A Sri Lankan Air Force airman was killed and another injured in claymore blast by suspected LTTE cadres in the North-Central Vavuniya district this morning, a military official said here.
A group of airmen was going through physical training exercise in the morning when the LTTE cadres detonated a powerful claymore using a remote control device, killing one airman and wounding another at Poovarasankulam in Vavuniya.
A search operation was under way in the area to arrest the culprits.
