K'taka contemplate legal action against Maharashtra DCM
Belgaum, Sep 26 (UNI) Karnataka is contemplating legal action against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, who had allegedly made provocative speech at the 'Parallel Meet' of the Marathi speaking people held here yesterday.
Water Resources Minister K S Eswarappa announced this in the state assembly in response to Kananda Chaluvali Vatal Paksha member Vatal Nagaraj's objection to Mr Patil's remarks.
He said the government was committed to protect its rights of land and water and there should not be any doubt on it.
Mr Nagaraj wanted the government to take action against Mr Patil for vitiating the atmosphere in Belgaum, the border town with Maharashtra.
His remarks drew strong protest from the two MES supported independent members who rushed to the well of the house to register their protest. However, they were shouted down by members belonging to other political parties including BJP, Congress and JD(S). The two independent members later staged walk out.
