Jessica case: HC order to attach Vikas's property
New Delhi, Sep 26: The Delhi High court granted the Delhi police permission to attach the immovable and movable property of Vikas Gill, declared as proclaimed offender in the Jessica Lal murder case.
State counsel Mukta Gupta requested the Division bench of RS Sodhi and PK Bhasin for a permission to attach the properties of the accused.
She said that Gill's properties included a nursing home, residence, 18 acre land spread across 3 villages. Ms Gupta informed the court about completion of the formalities through the local administrative officers in the respective villages and districts where the properties were situated.
However, Justice PK Bhasin appeared unhappy. ''Why has the police not taken the physical possession of the property,'' he asked.
The state counsel assured the judges of ensuring that the owner couldn't transact any business in the land deals whether agricultural or non-agricultural.
She also assured them of appointing a receiver to get all the property sold in accordance with law.
