Indian delegation for Frankfurt Book Fair

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 26 (UNI) An Indian delegation will attend the Frankfurt International Book Fair in Germany from October four.

Speaking to UNI here today, Popular Feminist Writer and Poet A Rokkaiah Malik said India will be the guest of honour at the event.

A group of eminent persons and leading authors like U R Ananthamurthy, Javed Akthar and Girish Karnad will be part of the Indian delegation to be taken by the National Book Trust.

The Guest of Honour presentation will portray ''Todays India'' and its accomplishments in various fields, including art, culture literature, theatre and films.

As a curtain raiser to the presentation, reading sessions by 12 eminent Indian authors have already been organised in various cities like Berlin, Frankfurt,Munich, Hamburg and Leipzig.

Ms Malik, who is also the Chairperson of the Ponnampatti Town Panchayat in this district, is the sole Tamil writer to be part of the delegation.

She would participate in a few reading sessions of her works at the fair.
