Heavy rains predicted in coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Sikkim, Bihar

Pune, Sep 26 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Konkan and Goa and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Mainly dry weather will prevail over west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.

The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in coastal Karnataka and active over Bihar and Kerala. It has been subdued over west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh and north interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Rajasthan from where the southwest monsoon has been withdrawn.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occured at many places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy rains have occured at most places in coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Very light rains have occured at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, west Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Saurashtra and Kutch and north interior Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occured at most places in Marathwada, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and at many places in Bihar, Rayalseema, north interior Karnataka and at a few places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan and Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, east Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujaratn, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Orissa, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and east Madhya Pradesh.
