Hardcore CPI (Maoist) ultra nabbed, police term it biggest catch
Ranchi, Sep 26 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, Jharkhand police last night nabbed the Chhattisgarh committee secretary of the banned CPI Maoist), equally active in this part, near Namkum Railway crossing here.
The arrested naxalite identified as Dinkar alias Ranjan alias Aditya was the mastermind behind the serial land mines blast that killed two policemen under Barwadih police station in Latehar district on August 22. One policeman was injured in the incident.
Dinkar, against whose arrest award of Rs one lakh was announced, was last night intercepted in a private car on a specific tip off.
DGP V D Ram addressing a press conference this evening termed last night's police success as the biggest catch in the state after the arrest of Nathuni Mistri.
He said Dinkar would be prodduced before court tomorrow adding during interrogation many important information about the organisation and their future plan could be derived from him.
Dinkar joined the CPI (Maoist) in 1994 and was once arrested in 1999 but he managed to obtain bail in 2003.
Since then he had been carrying out operation both in Chhattisgarh and in Jharkhand simultaneously, Mr Ram said adding that his arrest would bring down insurgency activities in the state.
His main area of operations in Jharkhand included Palamu, Gomla, Latehar besides Bhim Korwa in Chattisgarh.
Besides, he was responsible for expanding the growth CPI (Maoist) in the state.
