Ganguly, Laxman, Nehra to play in Challenger Trophy
Mumbai, Sep 26 (UNI) Sourav Ganguly got another lease of life and former captain, left out of Champions Trophy squad, found a place in the Mohammad Kaif-led India Green in the triangular Challengers Trophy getting under way in Chennai on October 1.
Besides Ganguly, out-of-favour batsman V V S Laxman and left-arm paceman Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra also got an opportunity to stake their claims for a return in the one-day squad, selection committee of the BCCI decided in a meeting today.
Test opener Wasim Jaffer and young Ravinder Jadeja have been inducted in India Blue while S Sreesanth found a place in the Venugopal Rao-led India Red.
Meanwhile, India seniors, dubbed as India Blue will be coached by Bio-mechanic expert Ian Frazer in the absence of coach Greg Chappell. Lalchand Rajput and Robin Singh will be coaching India Red and India Green respectively.
