Flight makes emergency landing as passenger suffers heart attack
Chennai, Sept 26: A Malaysian Airways flight from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur made an emergency landing at the Anna International airport here early today after one of the passengers suffered a heart attack.
As the aircraft was flying over Indian airspace, the passenger, Md Bin Dilon, suffered a cardiac arrest, airport sources said.
The cabin crew sent an SOS to the Chennai airport, which is closer, and special permission was granted for the landing at 0555 hrs.
Dilon, assisted by his friend Ahmed Hussain, was admitted to a private hospital.
The flight later left for Kuala Lumpur at 0730 hrs.
Later, the passenger, who suffered heart attack died at a private hospital in the city. The deceased passenger was a Malaysian national.
