First Eco-battery operated vehicle launched in Meghalaya

Shillong, Sep 26 (UNI) The first eco-battery operated vehicle was launched here today by Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Dr Donkupar Roy today.

The vehicle has been purchased by the Meghalaya Non-conventional and Rural Energy Development Agency and would be used by its Director K Tiewsoh.

Talking to mediaperson after flagging off the non-polluting and environment-friendly vehicle, manufactured by a Bangalore-based firm, Dr Roy said the vehicle is economical, easy to maintain and recharge.

The two-seater vehicle was purchased at a cost of over Rs 4.07 lakh and Rs 75,000 was given as assistance from the Union Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Resources.
